Welcome, I’m Laurie Vallance, a multi-media artist, textile designer, marbler and digital creator.
I am constantly looking for ways create while evolving and exploring new mediums. My favorites so far have been sculpture, ceramics, textiles, marbling, and now digital art. It’s absolutely energizing for me to try unconventional means of generating images, while combining unusual processes and collaborating with others. My mother, an anchor and massive source of inspiration in my life, loved Cardinals. Whenever I see them, which is not often enough, I feel her presence from beyond, guiding me, encouraging my thoughts, and comforting when needed.

It all started when…
In 1988, my mom gave me a book (The Practical Guide to Marbling Paper by Anne Chambers) and I decided to give marbling a try. Little did I know, my husband, Thom, and I would go on to grow a small business with marbled fabrics. Today, we still enjoy creating all kinds of marbling on textiles, as well as digital forms.
